Cumulative enrolment of more than 5,000 students
巴林大学孔子学院（以下简称“巴林孔院”）成立于2014年4月15日，由巴林大学和上海大学合作建立。巴林孔院是巴林王国唯一的孔子学院，巴林孔院的成立是中国和巴林友好合作的结晶，也是中外合作办学的一个典范。
自2014年9月上海大学与巴林大学合办孔子学院以来，已有超过5000名巴林大学本科生修读了中文学分课，政府班已成功举办9期，培训了来自巴林教育部、外交部、内政部、国防部等重要部门学员400余名。孔院创办十年来，在巴林掀起了“中国热”和“汉语潮”，已成为巴林民众感知中国历史文化和了解中国发展成就的重要窗口，有力推动了中巴教育交流与合作。
The Confucius Institute at University of Bahrain (CIUOB), the one and only Confucius Institute in Bahrain, was established in the University of Bahrain on April 15th, 2014. It is the fruitful result of the friendly cooperation of China and Bahrain. It is also a good example of Sino-foreign cooperative education.
Since CIUOB was established in September 2014, more than 5,000 students at University of Bahrain have attended the credit Chinese language classes. The government courses have successfully held nine sessions and trained more than 400 students from important ministries in Bahrain such as Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, and Bahrain Defense Force.
Over the past decade, the Confucius Institute has sparked a "China craze" and a "Mandarin wave" in Bahrain. CIUOB has become a window for local people to come close to Chinese history and culture and the development achievements of China, and has greatly promoted educational cooperation between Bahrain and China.
Chinese Language Credit Courses for UOB Students
作为巴林大学五年发展计划中的重点发展项目之一，巴林孔院为巴林大学学生开设的汉语学分课已纳入巴林大学整体规划。
ClUOB was listed as one of the key development projects of the five-year development plan of University of Bahrain. Chinese credit courses opened for college students of Bahrain University have already been included in the integrated planning of University of Bahrain.
巴林大学开设了汉语学分课程，包括汉语一级班（CHL101）和汉语二级班（CHL102），每门课程均为3学分，并且还提供了暑期学分课程。随着师资的增加和教学质量的提高，巴林大学的汉语课程口碑迅速提升，教学规模不断扩大，几乎每个学期每个班级的学生人数都达到了课程的最大容量。
Chinese language credit courses CHL101 for Level 1 and CHL102 for Level 2 (3 credits) are available for all UOB students. Additionally, there is a credit course available during every summer break. With the increase in teaching staff and the improvement of teaching quality, the reputation of Chinese language courses at the University of Bahrain has rapidly risen. The scale of teaching has continued to expand, with nearly every class reaching its maximum capacity in student numbers each semester.
Program for Government Employees
巴林孔院自2014年开始为巴林当地政府官员提供汉语学习课程，学生分别来自教育部、外交部、内政部、国防部等政府部门。根据学生的特点和需求，孔院在教授汉语言文化知识的同时更侧重他们的交际需求。
In order to meet the demand of local people, CIUOB offered Chinese courses for local government employees coming from the principal departments including Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, and Bahrain Defense Force since 2014. Based on their characteristics and needs, teachers will emphasize more on communication skill while imparting knowledge of Chinese language and culture.
Chinese Language Classes to the General Public in Bahrain
为满足巴林居民日益增长的汉语学习需求，丰富当地文化氛围，巴林孔子学院于2024年2月首次推出了面向校外成人的中文课程。课程全年对巴林居民开放，旨在吸引更多人加入中文教育，促进中国文化在巴林的传播。
To meet the growing demand for learning Chinese among Bahraini residents and enrich the local cultural atmosphere, CIUOB launched its first-ever Chinese language course for the general public in Bahrain since February 2024. The course is open throughout the year, aiming to attract more people to join Chinese education and promote the dissemination of Chinese culture in Bahrain.
HSK Supporting Course
为了帮助巴林学生获得孔子学院奖学金、参加中国夏令营、就读中国名校，或在知名企业就业，巴林孔院自2022年11月起开设HSK辅导班，旨在帮助学生成功通过HSK考试（汉语水平考试）。
To assist Bahraini students in obtaining scholarships from Confucius Institute, participating in summer camps in China, studying at renowned Chinese universities, or working in well-known enterprises, CIUOB has offered HSK supporting classes since September 2022, aiming to help students pass the HSK test (Chinese Proficiency Test) successfully.
Local Teacher Training Program
巴林孔院本土教师培训班自2023年3月启动，致力于培养具有HSK3级以上汉语水平的巴林人成为本土中文教师，以满足巴林当地对于中文学习的需求。
The local teacher training program of CIUOB was launched in March 2023 with the aim of nurturing Bahrainis with a proficiency level of HSK 3 or above to become local Chinese language teachers, in order to meet the local demand for Chinese language learning in Bahrain.
Program for UOB Staff
为满足巴林大学教职工学习汉语和了解中国文化的需求，自2014年起，巴林孔院开设了教职工班。该班为学员们提供了丰富的中国文化知识，并根据他们的工作需求增设了商务汉语等内容。
CIUOB also set up Chinese language courses for staff at University of Bahrain to meet their needs for Chinese and Chinese culture since 2014. On the curriculum, teachers at CIUOB have prepared a wealth of knowledge on Chinese culture for the staff classes, including content on Business Chinese according to their job requirements.
International School Chinese Class
2023年9月，巴林孔院与巴林当地国际学校合作，为中学生提供多元化的中文学习体验。这是孔院中文课程首次进入巴林王国当地国际学校的课堂，为推广中文教育在巴林的发展开辟了新的途径。
In September 2023, CIUOB collaborated with local international schools in Bahrain to offer a diverse Chinese learning experience for secondary school students. This marks the first time that the Confucius Institute's Chinese language courses have entered the classrooms of local international schools in Bahrain, paving the way for the advancement of Chinese education in Bahrain through new avenues.
