基本概况

巴林王国巴林大学孔子学院（Confucius Institute at University of Bahrain，简称CI-UOB）是经中国国家汉语国际推广领导小组办公室（原国家汉办）批准，由中国上海大学与巴林王国巴林大学共建而成。2014年1月7日，巴林大学与上海大学签署孔子学院执行协议。2014年4月15日，巴林大学孔子学院正式揭牌并启动运行。 
Confucius Institute at University of Bahrain (CI-UOB) is approved by the Office of the National Leading Group for the Promotion of Chinese Language Internationally (former Hanban) of China, and jointly established by Shanghai University of China and the University of Bahrain of the Kingdom of Bahrain.On 7 January 2014, the Confucius Institute at University of Bahrain signed an implementation agreement with On 7 January 2014, CI-UOB signed an executive agreement with Shanghai University, and on 15 April 2014, CI-UOB was officially inaugurated and started operation. 

办学规模 

巴林孔院位于巴林大学校区，专用场地总面积约440平方米，内部主要设置两间办公室，一间阅览室（约4500册书籍），一间多功能活动室（室内配备了中国非遗文化虚拟体验VR装备，以及中国传统乐器和其他文化体验用具），待建一所智慧教室位于学校E-learning Center。 

The CI-UOB is located on the campus of the University of Bahrain, with a total area of about 440 square metres of dedicated space, with two offices, a reading room (about 4,500 books), a multi-functional activity room (equipped with VR equipment for virtual experience of Chinese non-heritage culture, as well as traditional Chinese musical instruments and other cultural experience tools), and an intelligent classroom to be built in the university's E-learning Centre. 

办学特色

巴林孔院办学方式灵活多样，根据当地国情需求，为巴林大学学生开设汉语学分课，并将汉语课程纳入到了大学学分体系。目前，巴林孔院每年培训学生近千人，是巴林地区最大的汉语学习平台，自2014年9月开班以来，累计注册学员超过5000人。
The CI-UOB runs its courses in a flexible and diverse way, and offers Chinese language credit courses for students of the University of Bahrain according to the needs of the local national conditions. At present, the Confucius Institute in Bahrain trains nearly 1,000 students every year, and is the largest Chinese learning platform in Bahrain, with a total of more than 5,000 students registered since the opening of classes in September 2014.

此外，孔院还为巴林教育部、内政部、外交部、国防部等部委官员及巴林大学教工提供汉语课程。目前政府班已成功举办8期，培训学员超过400余人。课程深受巴林政府人员、巴林大学师生以及巴林各界人士的喜爱。 
In addition, the CI-UOB provides Chinese language courses for officials from the Ministries of Education, Interior, Foreign Affairs, and Defence, as well as for faculty members of the University of Bahrain. Currently, eight government classes have been successfully held, training more than 400 students. The courses are well received by Bahraini government officials, Bahrain University faculty and students, and people from all walks of life in Bahrain. 

文化活动

巴林孔院积极推广中国文化，与巴林大学紧密合作，每年积极参与巴林国庆节、巴林龙舟赛，巴林妇女节等大型庆祝活动，积极开展春节、端午节、中秋节，孔子学院开放日、国际中文日等相关中国文化活动。
The CI-UOB actively promotes Chinese culture, cooperates closely with the University of Bahrain, and actively participates in large-scale celebrations such as Bahrain National Day, Bahrain Dragon Boat Race, Bahrain Women's Day and other large-scale celebrations every year, as well as actively carries out the Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, the Confucius Institute's Open Day, the International Chinese Language Day, and other related Chinese cultural activities.

巴林孔院积极组建校内学生中文社团“中国结”、开设中国汉字文化讲座，参与巴林英国国际学校一年一度的国家家庭集市，联合巴林青年部召开中国奖学金宣讲会相关教育类讲座；校外组建巴林中国文化俱乐部，为热爱中文及中华文化的当地友人举办文化活动。目前已经发展成为巴林地区唯一的中国语言文化传播中心。 
The CI-UOB in Bahrain has been actively forming the on-campus Chinese language club ‘Chinese Knot’, offering lectures on Chinese characters and culture, participating in the annual National Family Fair at the British International School of Bahrain, and holding educational lectures related to Chinese scholarships in conjunction with the Ministry of Youth of Bahrain; and setting up the Bahrain Chinese Culture Club outside the school to organise cultural activities for local friends who love the Chinese language and culture. The Bahrain Chinese Cultural Club was formed off campus to organise cultural activities for local friends who love Chinese language and culture. It has now developed into the only Chinese language and culture dissemination centre in Bahrain. 

社会影响

巴林孔院积极深化与当地中国企业（如华为、海康威视、中国机械设备工程、巴林龙城集团）的合作关系，以中国文化活动、中文学习项目助力青年职业人才培养。并参与华为公司“未来种子”计划、海康威视智慧教室共建等产学研合作项目。 
The CI-UOB has actively deepened its partnership with local Chinese enterprises (e.g. Huawei, Hikvision, China Machinery and Equipment Engineering, Bahrain Longcheng Group), and assisted in the cultivation of young professionals through Chinese cultural activities and Chinese language learning programmes. It has also participated in Huawei's ‘Seeds of the Future’ programme, Hikvision's smart classroom construction and other industry-academia-research cooperation projects. 

自成立以来，巴林孔院已成为促进上海大学与巴林大学乃至海湾地区国家交流与合作的桥头堡。未来，巴林孔院将不断加强语言教学的建设，持续推进两校间师生和学院间的合作，为中巴两校师生搭建更加多元的国际化发展平台。

Since its establishment, the Bahrain Confucius Institute has become a bridgehead for promoting exchanges and cooperation between Shanghai University and the University of Bahrain as well as the countries in the Gulf region. In the future, the Bahrain Confucius Institute will continue to strengthen the construction of language teaching, continue to promote the cooperation between teachers and students and colleges of the two universities, and build a more diversified international development platform for the teachers and students of China and Bahrain.
