巴林大学孔子学院（以下简称“巴林孔院”）成立于2014年4月15日，由巴林大学和上海大学合作建立。巴林孔院是巴林王国唯一的孔子学院，巴林孔院的成立是中国和巴林友好合作的结晶，也是中外合作办学的一个典范。

自2014年9月上海大学与巴林大学合办孔子学院以来，已有超过5000名巴林大学本科生修读了中文学分课，政府班已成功举办9期，培训了来自巴林教育部、外交部、内政部、国防部等重要部门学员400余名。孔院创办十年来，在巴林掀起了“中国热”和“汉语潮”，已成为巴林民众感知中国历史文化和了解中国发展成就的重要窗口，有力推动了中巴教育交流与合作。

The Confucius Institute at University of Bahrain (CIUOB), the one and only Confucius Institute in Bahrain, was established in the University of Bahrain on April 15th, 2014. It is the fruitful result of the friendly cooperation of China and Bahrain. It is also a good example of Sino-foreign cooperative education.

Since CIUOB was established in September 2014, more than 5,000 students at University of Bahrain have attended the credit Chinese language classes. The government courses have successfully held nine sessions and trained more than 400 students from important ministries in Bahrain such as Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, and Bahrain Defense Force.

Over the past decade, the Confucius Institute has sparked a "China craze" and a "Mandarin wave" in Bahrain. CIUOB has become a window for local people to come close to Chinese history and culture and the development achievements of China, and has greatly promoted educational cooperation between Bahrain and China.

Providing HSK Test

作为巴林地区唯一的HSK考点，巴林大学孔子学院为本地及周边国家地区的考生提供HSK考试服务。HSK考试的顺利举行不仅解决了过去巴林考生需要到约旦等国考试的不便之处，还为培养更多高水平的汉语人才做出了积极的贡献。

As the sole HSK test center in the Bahrain region, CIUOB offers HSK exam services to local and neighboring country candidates. The smooth administration of the HSK test not only addresses the inconvenience previously faced by Bahraini candidates who had to travel to countries like Jordan for exams but also actively contributes to the cultivation of more proficient Chinese language talents.

Providing YCT Test

The Youth Chinese Test (YCT), an international standardized test for Chinese language proficiency, assesses primary and secondary school students' abilities to use Chinese as a second language in their daily and academic life.

The YCT is divided into a writing and speaking test, independent of each other. The writing test consists of four levels. The speaking test consists of two levels, including primary and intermediate.

Confucius Institute Scholarship

孔子学院为有意赴华留学的巴林大学生提供多种奖学金机会，包括短期（四周、一个学期、一年）或长期（本科、硕士、博士）项目，并全方位地支持学生，以帮助他们实现留学梦想。

CIUOB provides various scholarship opportunities for university students in Bahrain who are interested in studying in China, including short-term (four weeks, one semester, one year) or long-term (undergraduate, master's, doctoral) programs, and offers comprehensive support to students from all aspects to help them achieve their study abroad goals.

访华团 Visiting-China Trip

巴林孔院每年组织巴林的大学生、巴林教育工作者等赴华参观访问。在此期间，观看演出、游访著名景点，上海大学也为学生们提供了精彩纷呈的汉语课与文化课。

CIUOB organizes trips to China for university students, educational officials, and others every year. During these visits, participants attend performances, visit famous landmarks, and Shanghai University also offers a diverse range of Chinese language and cultural courses for the students.

汉语桥比赛 Chinese Bridge Contest

“汉语桥”作为展示汉语学习者风采的舞台，每年都吸引了全球许多汉语学习者参加。巴林孔院每年都举办“汉语桥”比赛，并积极鼓励巴林地区的优秀学生参与其中。在2023年8月的第二十二届“汉语桥”世界大学生中文比赛中，巴林大学的王汐晨同学荣获了大赛的“优秀奖”，并获得了教育部中外语言交流合作中心颁发的前往中国进修汉语一学期的中文教师奖学金。

The "Chinese Bridge" serves as a platform for showcasing the achievements of Chinese language learners, attracting participants from around the world each year. The Confucius Institute in Bahrain organizes the "Chinese Bridge" competition annually and actively encourages outstanding students from Bahrain to participate. In August 2023, Naseema Bakht, a student from the University of Bahrain, won the "Outstanding Award" in the 22rd "Chinese Bridge" World University Chinese Language Competition and was awarded a scholarship by the Chinese Ministry of Education's Center for Language Exchange and Cooperation to study Chinese language for one semester in China.

Other cultural activities

巴林孔院每年还会举办孔院日、开放日、国际中文日、中国新年联欢会等活动，并积极参与巴林当地学校举办的各种文化活动，促进中巴文化交流。

In addition, CIUOB organizes events such as Confucius Day Celebration, Opening Day, International Chinese Language Day, and Chinese New Year celebrations every year. It also actively participates in various cultural events held by local schools in Bahrain, thereby promoting cultural exchanges between China and Bahrain.
